Upgrade of an ultra high voltage line plant 161KV

Overview

The desalination plant, which processes 30 million cubes a year.

The plant was erected by using the BOO method by Via Maris Desalination Ltd., a subsidiary of Granite Hacarmel Investments Ltd.

The plant was established to provide high-quality water to the nation-wide water system.

The project’s scope included:

Upgrade of the substation 161KV.

A complicated project, which required higher than usual logistic and engineering capabilities.

More Information

The upgrade of the electrical substation was a complicated project, which required higher than usual logistic and engineering capabilities.

The great distance where cranes can be positioned from the transformers, required lifting the transformers by two cranes in parallel, which necessitated scheduling and coordination at any given moments.

After the installation of the new transformers, we carried out connection adjustments to the national network, in 161KV.

Calibration of the protective relays and the coordination with the Electricity Company was carried out by the company’s engineering department.

Planning the execution processes and meeting exact deadlines contributed to the project’s success.
